When I first transitioned from a Standard American Diet (SAD) to paleo, I did so by paleo-fying my favorite foods. This, of course, included pizza. Duh. Doughy crust, rich sauce, stretchy cheese—one can't just go cold turkey on this stuff.
Dates are naturally one of the sweetest fruits you can find. They're a great treat in moderation, they, pair amazingly with savory foods, and they add a nice punch of sweetness to dishes as you transition away from added sugars in your diet.
